Tim & Jeri bought 10 Muirfeld Black Rock hens.

“Thank you to Amelia and her family for introducing us to the Muirfeld Black Rock hens. We travelled from North Yorkshire to Lymm and found an amazingly beautiful set-up. The birds were in peak condition and just on the point of lay. Their hen houses and runs were secure and monitored through the surveillance system. We were welcomed with tea and biscuits and given a guided tour. Beehives, a newly seeded wildflower meadow and owl boxes have been introduced to encourage bio-diversity and a commitment to protect the environment. We will definitely be coming back for more!”

Sharon bought 12 Light Sussex Hatching Eggs:

“Success! Hatching went really well with just a couple of misfires. I am amazed! It is the first time that i’ve bought mail order eggs and it seemed truly miraculous that it should work so well. The chicks are already running around in the grass after their mother. They are strong, sturdy little things. I can see they have good genes from your husbandry.”

Sharon Martin

Graeme bought 10 Muirfeld Black Rock Hens:

“I had the pleasure of dealing with Higher Oak Farm recently as I was after some Hybrids to complement my increasing pure breeds. I’d decided that I wanted some genuine Muirfeld Black Rock pullets, and after searching the internet I came across Higher Oak Farms website, I found it very easy to use and well thought out. After exchanging messages, I used the website to order the birds, travelled down the next day to meet Amelia and my new pullets. I’ve used many different suppliers over the last 20 years, and my dealings with this family company was first class, and all the birds are all in fine health and looking just great. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Higher Oak Farm in the future and wish you all the best with your poultry venture.”

Alison bought 1 Light Sussex Hen, 1 Lavender Araucana Hen, 2 Silkies, 1 Muirfeld Black Rock hen, 1 Old English Pheasant Fowl and 1 Hi-Oak Brown Hen.

“I had a trip to Higher Oak Farm to meet the Robertson's to discuss my choice of hens from their amazing flocks. Kirk & Amelia helped catch 6 beauties. I went home with a Light Sussex, a Lavender Araucana, 2 silkies (one a Gold Top), a Muirfeld Black Rock and an Old English Pheasant Fowl. Within days the girls had settled in and paired up as friends. I got to learn each of their calls, habits, special movements and to my surprise I just love everyone of them. They renewed my love for home baking and make the most perfect manure! When my poor Flossie passed away, Amelia helped me choose another of their birds, the Hi-Oak browns. Evelyn is a fantastic layer! A huge thank you to Higher Oak Farm!”

“I just got my first order delivered. Looks wise and taste wise you can tell these are superior eggs, from truly natural and free chickens in farms. I got a small farm back home so the taste reminded me of the eggs we get from our chickens. Highly recommend Higher Oak Farm for their quality.”

Jon Lavin

Jon bought 6 Muirfeld Black Rock hens.

“What a pleasure it was getting my new Black Rock hens and dealing with the Higher Oak Farm Team. I will certainly be back in touch again when we need to restock early next year! The website is very easy to use and pay on which made everything problem free. The birds we bought are good looking, spotlessly clean and smell great as well! Not like some of our local breeders that we’ve got chickens from in the past. The birds are a real credit to the farm.”

Leah has a bi-weekly order of 30 mixed eating eggs.

“The most delicious eggs in a wonderful variety of colours and sizes.
Always a warm welcome from Amelia and Kirk.”

David bought 6 Norfolk Grey hens and 4 Araucana hens.

“What a great place, we started building on our rare breed bird collection a few years ago but finding good specialist poultry farms close to home has always proved difficult. Thankfully we have discovered this little gem last month. Higher Oak farm has lots of fantastic birds, the set up is great with a huge amount of space for the hens to roam around in. We went for 6 Norfolk Greys and 4 Araucanas who have a really nice temperament and are loved by my grandson.
Like myself, the owner shares great enthusiasm for Rare Breed poultry farming and is very knowledgeable. We will be back to grow our brood just before Christmas!”

David Bennett

Gina bought 12 Light Sussex Hatching Eggs.

“I bought some Light Sussex hatching eggs for my daughters to have in our garden as they’ve been desperate to collect their own eggs for years. The eggs were delivered to our house quickly and packaged really well, all 12 eggs hatched and we are delighted with our new chicks! Had a great conversation with the farm owner on the phone who gave us loads of handy tips as we are first time hatchers. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to hatch and rear their own rare breed hens!”

Sarah bought 1 Old English Pheasant Fowl, 1 Hi-Oak Brown and 1 Light Sussex hen.

“Really nice team, helped us choose a good mix of birds for our back garden, eggs every day now! We saw the bees that they keep and they were planting fruit trees in the front when we visited, all in all a great little trip out.”
